National interest in the semiconductor industry is increasing day by day. As production bases and industrial complexes of domestic Conglomerate are located or are being built in Gyeonggi-do, the semiconductor industry in Gyeonggi-do is particularly considered a  major industry.

Value Engineering, located in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, is a Hidden Companies that specializes in semiconductor parts and stands out in the semiconductor industry in the province.

Since 2017, it has been growing as it has secured plasma application technology, next-generation coating technology, and advanced technology such as precision cleaning and repair of semiconductors.

In particular, they are interested in securing discriminatory innovative technologies, so they opened a research institute in 2009 and are strengthening their competitiveness.

On the 29th of last month, Hwang Kyu-tae, CEO of Value Engineering, visited and told about his future goals as a semiconductor parts company.

Securing growth engines through technology development : Value Engineering spared no investment in technology development with the aim of localizing foreign parts and maximizing yield. Efforts were made to secure growth engines through continuous innovation without stopping in parts processing.

As a result, it has secured technologies for manufacturing modules as well as parts processing, and furthermore, it has been developing its own technologies while securing technologies for generating and controlling ions and plasma.

First of all, Value Engineering succeeded in developing its own RF-type ICP source in the field of ion implantation equipment, which U.S. companies have been applying DC-type sources for about 40 years. It has developed its own technology with low power and high efficiency to make technology independent.

In addition, it has improved yield by completing the development of plasma coating technology in nano-lattice control that can control particles up to nano-size in the semiconductor process.

CEO Hwang said, “Localization can also be described as internalization. Localization is securing existing technologies by accumulating technologies on its own. Only when it is localized, we can secure a first step to develop super-gap and super-first-class technologies as a first mover." adding ”In the past, the industry was actually busy to copy. However, it is time for small and medium-sized enterprises to prepare for the future through efforts to focus on R&D.“

CEO Hwang  chose “Humanism”as his management philosophy. When running a company, it is important to secure many talented people and create an environment where they can grow into talents, and also important to discuss with them in the decision-making process.

CEO Hwang said, "When something happens in a company,  if I have to choose whether to follow the company's strategy or to follow people, it is of course following people. I think I should talk to good talented people and to make decisions that have formed consensus.“

As R&D is in charge of a major role in Value Engineering, CEO Hwang’s big interest is to increase investment in the field and secure human resources more.

In addition, CEO Hwang's ultimate ambition is to strive to cultivate necessary human resources  for our society.

It is determined to run scholarship system so that students with infinite potential can develop their abilities to realize social values based on human resources, and to develop them into talents who can work for Korea as well as Value Engineering.

CEO Hwang said, "I want 20~30% of the company's profits to invest mainly in education, facilities, and R&D for the virtuous cycle and growth in the future.“ adding ”Also, whether talented people come to our company or not, I think we should do things like running scholarships to secure human resources. It costs a lot to develop professional skills, so I want to apply in that regard." And last he added, "There is still a way to go, but I want to practice social values in supporting and fostering talent as an businessman."
